  • cryptopticon

When looking at the life of domains they can tell stories and here is one about roverforum.co.uk – this is a domain that belonged to someone who owned all the major brands of cars followed by the word forum. These have expired are at the time of writing currently available at namecheap.

When looking at the profile of all these car forum domains most of them only saw use from 2002 to 2004, they were a part of the car forum network and the rover website was heavily back linked. Looking at the backlink profile only the rover site got attention at 5.7K back links.

All of the links are technically sponsored by google as they come from blogspot accounts mainly registered in France. Looking at the content it was the standard Canadian pharmacy spam. A bot finds a way to sign up and place multiple links inside a post, all automated with the number money make on the internet is self selection, marks find their link providers.
