nreal are a next-generation technology company who are in the process of releasing a set of smart glasses announced at CES in 2019. They are being released by mobile carriers and are so far available in Japan and South Korea
Germany is the next country to get access to nreals smart glasses with 5G infrastructure being a pre-requisite. The glasses require low latency 5G mobile networks and have the ability to connect multiple people to the same AR stream

The Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM) technology in nreal’s glasses has the potential to transform public spaces, connecting people to share digital spheres in real time using 5G. Conferences and seminars are about to experience a transition into more immersive experiences and opening up to new spheres of experience

The glasses are competing in the augmented reality race for captivating attention, at some point public spaces are going to become increasingly interactive. An example would be the Amazon cashless and cashierless grocery stores.
Nreal’s glasses perform a similar function from scanning a barcode and using a phones default payment method. AR will combine physical and digital experiences in public spheres.

Low power bluetooth
The current advancements have allowed bluetooth to become low power to become increasingly battery friendly always connected devices a reality. Google Glass and Snapchat Spectacles are two other companies who are working on AR.
